The condition of lots can vary widely and the nature of the lots sold means that they are unlikely to be in a perfect condition. Lots are sold in the condition they are in at the time of sale.
The painting presents well in natural light. The canvas has been subject to relining; it is held under tension and remains stable. The relining process has caused some thinning to the upper paint glazes. There is a fine pattern of craquelure across the surface. There are some very minor losses to the paint to the upper left quadrant. The paint remains stable. There are some minor frame abrasions to the lower right edge of the canvas. Examination under UV light is precluded by a cloudy varnish.
