Executed on laid paper, the drawings are each hinged at top. The colors are still vibrant, however the media and the paper has suffered, especially along the edges of the sheets.
The Earl: the color is abraded around the margins. Small pin hole at lower center. A small tear in the paper at top left.
The Countess: the paper is partially damaged along the lower margin with losses of color. Some losses also along the top margin. The color is abraded at top left. It appears that there are retouches to the gray background toward the right.
