Lot Essay

The Rolex Ref. 2508 was introduced in the mid-1930’s and has the distinction of being the first chronograph wristwatch with two registers on the dial and two pushers on the case. While the early examples are distinguished by oval-shaped chronograph pushers, the later models were produced with rectangular pushers. The present example presents a wonderfully-aged salmon dial with blued steel hands and has oval pushers for the chronograph function.
