This work on canvas has been successfully lined. The paint layer has developed drying cracks throughout that are not raised but are clearly visible. Under ultraviolet light, one can see a few spots of retouching beneath the standing figure in the center and in the sky to the left of the horse’s head. There is a line or two of retouching in the upper left and also in the upper center. There are a few spots on the edges, beneath the sled and in the left arm of the standing figure. To the immediate left of the standing figure are retouches visible to the naked eye but not under ultraviolet light. The picture seems to be slightly abraded in the faces.
