Among the Artists: The Ole Faarup Collection Online Sale will be open for bidding from 8 to 21 October as part of Christie’s 20th/21st Century Art auction series in London.

This outstanding collection, assembled over 50 years, is a striking testament to Ole Faarup’s passion for contemporary art and emerging artists, which made him one of the most respected art collectors of his generation. This sale brings together accessibly priced works from the collection by leading Danish and international post-war and contemporary artists.

As one of Denmark’s most visionary collectors, Ole Faarup’s longstanding support for young Danish artists is seen in standout works from the sale by Per Kirkeby, Sonja Ferlov Mancoba, John Kørner, Jeppe Hein, Ejler Bille and Tal R.

The auction will also feature prominent artists from the Neue Leipziger Schule, including Matthias Weischer and Daniel Richter, as well as leading Young British Artists, such as Tracey Emin, Sarah Lucas and Gary Hume. Other exciting contemporary highlights include works by Miriam Cahn, Chris Ofili and Guglielmo Castelli.

Proceeds from the sale will benefit The Ole Faarup Art Foundation*, which carries forward Ole Faarup’s unique vision to nurture and support future generations of artists. Inspired by five decades of passionate and thoughtful collecting, the Foundation is dedicated to helping younger artists by placing their work in museums and public collections in Denmark and around the world.
