Kate Harris studied at the National Art Training School in South Kensington before joining the staff of William Hutton & Sons as a designer working from the small London factory that they opened in 1898. Widely celebrated for her Art Nouveau designs, a silver cup and cover by Harris and produced by William Hutton & Sons, now in the collection of the Victoria and Albert Museum, London (Acc. No. M.22&A-1966), was a prize winner at the 1900 Paris Exposition Universelle.
