From 10–25 October, Christie’s is proud to present The Ann & Gordon Getty Collection: The Art of the Table: Ceramics, Silver, and Table Decorations, part of a series of landmark auctions of the Getty’s storied San Francisco interior. All proceeds are set to benefit the Ann and Gordon Getty Foundation for the Arts, dedicated to the support of arts and science organisations.

Dinner guests learned to expect the unexpected at the Getty’s Pacific Heights residence, whether in the form of a surprise musical performance courtesy of Mr. Getty or a clever and whimsical tablescape from Mrs. Getty. The Art of the Table reflects the Getty’s talent as hosts and showcases the richly layered table settings they were known for. Highlights of the sale include Tiffany flatware, luxury linens, European and Chinese Export porcelain services and table decorations.
