From 11–25 October, Christie’s is proud to present The Ann & Gordon Getty Collection: Decorations, Furniture, Lighting and Objects, part of a series of landmark auctions of the Getty’s storied San Francisco interior. Proceeds are set to benefit the Ann and Gordon Getty Foundation for the Arts, dedicated to the support of arts and science organisations.

Though her interiors never subscribed to any one aesthetic movement or trend, Mrs. Getty wove her rooms together through surprising linkages, using colour, textile and wit to brilliant effect. This sale features some of the bolder decorative pieces from the Getty home: from birdcages and bolsters to geodes and statement sofas. There is also a selection of fabrics, passementerie and fringes to create the look yourself.
