On 11–23 October, Christie’s is proud to present The Ann & Gordon Getty Collection: Jewelry and Handbags, part of a series of landmark auctions of the Getty’s storied San Francisco interior. All Proceeds are set to benefit the Ann and Gordon Getty Foundation for the Arts, dedicated to the support of arts and science organisations.

Ann Getty was a passionate collector throughout her life, and her eye for exceptional textiles is seen in her collection of ornate and embroidered handbags. Her enduring legacy as a fashion and style icon is exemplified through this collection, crafted by the most desirable and collectible brands. Many of the motifs seen in the Handbags, including flora and fauna, are repeated throughout her collection.
