The condition of lots can vary widely and the nature of the lots sold means that they are unlikely to be in a perfect condition. Lots are sold in the condition they are in at the time of sale.

The canvas is unlined and is on its original stretcher which is providing good support.

Under UV light there is an area of retoching to the man's trousers around the knee. There are some very small scattered specks of cosmetic retouching scattered through the painting, but these are incredibly minor. There is some retouching to frame abrasions along the right hand edge. The picture appears to have had a clean in the past.
It is now presented in good ready to hang condition.
