The painted surface has been cleaned in the past, and has minor varnish discolouration.
There is a minor surface scratch to the sky, visible on in the raking light on close inspection.
Examination under UV light shows cosmetic retouching visible predominantly throughout the sky and one or two sensitively handled spots of retouching.
Overall the painting presents very well in a gilt period style composite frame and can be hung as is.
The colours in the catalogue illustration are fairly accurate.
