Sale Overview
The annual Christie’s London Staff Auction returns with over ninety works of art offered for sale to raise funds for the brain injury charity Headway.
Organized by volunteers as part of the Corporate Social Responsibility Committee, the Staff Auction showcases work from established and emerging artists, art technicians to apprentices, with bids ranging from £100 to £10,000. Works include “Genius Loci” and “Empty Gestures” oil paintings by Magda Blasinska, an international exhibiting artist who draws inspiration from empty picture frames found in her family attic. Other works include “Blasted Tree” by Jack Knight, who explores the delicate interplay between fragmentation and reconstruction of his drawings on paper and “Vessel” by Lydia Smith, a plaster sculpture illustrating a dialogue between line and form, forcing air (real or immersive) to move and flow around it.
Come to support the charity and Christie’s talented staff in our Duke Street Galleries where works from paintings to sculpture, crochet and jewellery will be on view from Tuesday 31 October to Tuesday 7 November. Bidding opens on 26 October and closes on Tuesday 7 November.
