MAKER'S MARK SCRIPT D IN A SHAPED CARTOUCHE POSSIBLY FOR ISAAC DIGHTON, LONDON, CIRCA 1680
Isaac Dighton was a prolific and accomplished silversmith. The majority of his work is decorated in the Chinoiserie style which developed following the establishment of the East India Company in 1600, reaching its height at the end of the 17th century. A silver-gilt dressing table service with a similar pair of cannisters also marked for Dighton was sold at Christie's, London, 16 July 2010, lot 50.

Overall with some minor scuffs consistent with age and use, the internal pierced stoppers possibly later and unmarked, both only with maker's mark to underside, one cover with a tiny bit of excess solder to underside interior, engraved decoration clear, with scratch weights 15 - 7 and 12 - 15 on undersides, good condition.
