Riche d’environ 270 lots, la vente couvre un large spectre de thématiques emblématiques de l’art de vivre à la française : porcelaine, tapisserie, orfèvrerie, objets scientifiques mais aussi, bien sûr, boites en or et mobilier. La vente fait en effet la part belle à de grands ébénistes et menuisiers tels que J. Avisse, E. Doirat, P. Falconnet, T. Hache, G. Jacob, J.F. Leleu, C. Mauter, P.C. Montigny, P. Nogaret ou encore N. Petit. Cette excellence française dans le travail du bois se retrouve également dans la très belle collection de pendules ayant appartenu à Robert de Balkany. Une collection composée d’une quarantaine de pièces allant du cartel au régulateur, de la pendule de table à la pendule de cheminée. L’ensemble est représentatif des différentes techniques horlogères à travers l’histoire, du XVIIe siècle jusqu’à nos jours. Dans cette vente une série de très belles provenances seront proposées aux collectionneurs, telles que celles des comte de Ganay, de la famille Marquet de Vasselot ou encore de la collection Ferdinand Béghin.
