Contemporary Edition celebrates cutting-edge prints and multiples by established artists and sought-after new talents working in the late-20th century to the present day. A strong grouping of works by Banksy leads the auction, including signed impressions of Girl with Balloon, Kate Moss, NOLA, Choose Your Weapon, Morons, Trolleys and Banksquiat. Other iconic subjects on offer include Pulp Fiction, Welcome to Hell and Laugh Now amongst many others.
This season, the auction has a strong focus on works by eminent British artists including David Hockney’s vibrant iPad print The Arrival of Spring in Woldgate, East Yorkshire in 2011 (twenty eleven) – 17 May 2011. A section of contemporary British prints from an important collection include Grayson Perry’s monumental The American Dream (Pink and Blue) and The Map of Nowhere (Red), as well as Harland Miller’s LUV (large), and prints from Damien Hirst’s celebrated series The Souls on Jacob's Ladder Take Their Flight and 40 Woodcut Spots.
Further highlights include Yayoi Kusama’s Pumpkin 2000 (Yellow), Damien Hirst’s All You Need is Love Love Love, Jeff Koons’s Balloon Dog, 2021, and sought-after prints by artists including STIK, Yoshitomo Nara, Tracey Emin, Christopher Wool, Caroline Walker, Thierry Noir, Invader and David Shrigley.
