Christie's is proud to present Cultivating Delight: Collecting Chinese Art, an online auction jointly curated by our Chinese Paintings and Chinese Works of Art departments, headlined by Important Chinese Paintings from the Wang Hsin-heng Family and a refined group of scholar’s objects from the Tanglongge Collection, of particular note a bamboo carving of a toad previously in the Wang Shixiang collection. In addition, key highlights include paintings by Zhang Daqian, Lin Fengmian, Li Keran, Feng Zikai, and a selection of Chinese works of art made of various media including ceramics, cloisonné, lacquer, huanghuali, aloeswood, and the finest contemporary Chinese furniture.

This sale will provide a unique opportunity to experience the pure delight that comes from viewing, collecting, and living with beautiful Chinese artworks, derive pleasure from collecting and living with aesthetically pleasing art, and be reminded of the joy and delight that such artworks evoke through their depictions and imagery of aspects of normal, everyday life.
