拍賣簡介

This eclectic ‘Cabinet of Curiosities’ sale spans thousands of years of history, comprising Antiquities, European Sculpture and Objects, alongside Tribal and Ethnographic Art, Natural History and Topographical pictures. In 96 lots, the sale unites historically and geographically important objects and curiosities from around the globe, including a Chinese scholar’s wrist rest, a Spanish Colonial (South American) parquetry cabinet, Indian flasks and a Bezoar stone case, a Japanese hand cannon, Victorian ‘Halley’s Comet’ brooches, Tibetan objects and Victorian portraits.

This sale celebrates the achievements of the London-based dealers, Jan and Craig Finch of Finch & Co, who for the past 30 years, have been advising and engaging with collectors, with a unique eye for thought-provoking works and objects, representative of cultures from around the world. Each lot delivers a message and provides an invitation to imagine, to think, to discuss, and to escape our mechanised world into one where creativity and imagination are in harmony.

The sale will be on view at our King Street location from 30 October - 3 November.

Please note lot 25 will only be on view by appointment at our warehouse.
