Christie’s Wine Department in America is delighted to present our first sale of the Fall Season. With over 750 lots this sale offers our clients the opportunity to purchase rare and highly desirable wines from around the globe.
Featured prominently in the sale is the family wine collection of prominent Mid-Atlantic restaurateur, whose cellar reflected his extensive interest in, and keen eye for, top wines from the classic regions of France and California.
Bidders will be delighted to find on offer full cases of the Bordeaux 1st Growths from the widely acclaimed 2005 vintage, offered in original wooden cases, in pristine condition. Further highlights include the highly rated wines of Lafite Rothschild, Haut Brion and Mouton Rothschild. Moving to Burgundy the auction features a range of full cases from the Domaine in original woods, La Tâche from 1993 and 1994, Richebourg from the 1993, 1994 and 2009 vintages and a rare Assortment OWC from the 1994 vintage. All purchased on release from the US importer and stored since in professional storage in the Pacific Northwest.
With around 400 lots from California, the sale represents a comprehensive offering of some of the regions classics. Numerous highlights include nine vintages of Opus One, ten vintages of Harlan and seven vintages of Ridge Monte Bello. The sale also features some rare large formats including imperials of Groth Reserve Cabernet 1985, Beaulieu, Georges de Latour Private Reserve 1986 and double-magnums of Insignia from the 1995 and 1997 vintages.
