Sale Overview
This autumn, Christie’s London Wine department presents a sale of vinous treasures. The auction begins with a duty-paid cellar from a London home. Bordeaux is the central theme with Château Latour 1986 and 1995 in jeroboam, Château Mouton-Rothschild 1986 in imperial and Château Cheval Blanc 2001 in double magnum. Burgundy is presented with bottles from Domaine Rousseau, such as Charmes Chambertin 2005, and Champagne, ready for the festive season, is highlighted with Krug 1996 and Dom Ruinart 1996.
A selection of Henri Jayer is a focal point of the sale, with Richbourg, Echézeaux, Vosne-Romanée Cros Parantoux and Beaumonts from 1980 to 1992. Coche-Dury, Dugat-Py, Comte Georges de Vogüé, Meo-Camuzet and Oliver Bernstein provide more Pinot Noir and Chardonnay pleasure.
A special collection of wine includes Domaine de la Romanée-Conti from 2006 to 2018, including Montrachet 2006 and Bourgogne Hautes-Cotes de Nuits Blanc 2011. Domaine Leroy from 2000 to 2015 is offered with Corton Renardes and Clos Vougeot appearing. Domaine d'Auvenay also features, besides vintages of Dom Pérignon P2, Cristal Oenothèque and Rosé and Selosse. A beautiful selection of Conterno and Biondi-Santi are Italian delights.
Exceptional offerings from established collectors include Domaine Rousseau with Chambertin 1995 and 1996, Trapet, Bachelet, Roumier, Grivot, and a host of vintages of Domaine Lafon. For magnum fans, Leflaive’s magnums of 1988 Bienvenues Bâtard Montrachet and Château Montelena Chardonnay 1994 and 1998 are treats. Penfold’s Grange is offered from the 1955 to 1996 vintages. A special offering of Vega Sicilia Único, including bottles of the 1962 vintage is a focus for Spanish wine aficionados.
