Christie’s Wine & Spirits Department in Hong Kong is delighted to announce Fine and Rare Wines & Spirits Online: Featuring Rarities from the Cellar of a British Writer.

Over 120 lots are offered from the cellar of an English connoisseur who has spent three decades assembling - and drinking - a who’s who of Burgundy’s greatest wines. This offering is a testament to the dedication and eye for detail of the collector, as well as an obsession with ensuring the wines benefit from impeccable provenance and storage. As you embark on this journey through some of Burgundy's most celebrated vineyards, you will discover wines that exemplify the region's singular qualities.

The wines in the collection have all been purchased on release from top merchants, such as Berry Bros & Rudd, Corney & Barrow, and Lay & Wheeler. Thereafter, all bottles and cases have been stored under ideal conditions at internationally recognized state of the art facilities: either at Octavian or London City Bond; or else at the respective merchants from which they were originally purchased. They were released directly from these facilities to Christie’s for this auction and have a traceable history which assures their condition and provenance.

Highlights across the collection are various. Superb wines from Domaine de la Romanée-Conti in legendary vintages like 1990 and 1999 sit next to Dujac, Jayer, Roumier, Rousseau and Domaine Leroy. That said, in this collection, it is arguably the white wines which take centre stage. You will find assembled here one of the more impressive collections of white Burgundy that we’ve seen in recent years. Exceptional producers dominate the collection – with a particular focus on Domaine Leflaive, Sauzet, Lafon and Bonneau du Martray.

Another over 200 lots are from a magnificent collection which includes the finest wines from various regions. Among the Bordeaux offering, one can expect to encounter renowned names ranging from the prestigious first growths to the fifth growths in the left bank; and on the right, red and white wines offered by the esteemed Lefleur Estate and Guinaudeau Family. In Burgundy, an array of exciting wines awaits, including DRC, de Vogüe, Emmanuel Rouget, Bouchard, d'Eugénie and Louis Jadot. Italy presents an array of super Tuscans, whereas Spain contributes with the famed Vega Sicilia Unico and Valbuena 5°. Representing the New World, esteemed estates from the USA, namely Colgin, Dominus, Ridge, and others, make their mark.

Additional highlights offered in the sale include over 160 lots from Jacques Prieur from the last 2 decades available in case quantities, The Macallan 1961 and Karuizawa Five Decades 1960-2000.
