The sheet is hinged at the upper edges to the backing board. The edges of the sheet are deckled and the sheet has shifted in tone. A small abraded loss is to the proper left leg and a small raised surface irregularity is to the yellow passage in the giraffe's face. A few very faint hairline abrasions are in places to the red passages. Very faint mottling is visible infrequently to the areas of heavier paint application. A small accretion is near the lower edge left of center. There is no apparent inpainting visible under ultraviolet light.
