Details
Rare example of the Base Ball Player's Pocket Companion, third revised edition, published in 1860 by Mayhew & Baker, Boston. This 34-page soft-cover volume is considered by many historians to be the most historically significant, exclusively devoted baseball books of the nineteenth century, significant in that it features diagrams, illustrations and rules for both Massachusetts and New York games of Base Ball. Stamped and inscribed by a former owner on the fly leaf and inside back cover, it features all pages firmly attached, tight binding, and bright gilding on the front cover. Overall Excellent condition with light foxing.
3 ¾ x 5 ½ in.
