In a landmark series of sales to take place in February 2026, Christie’s is proud to present the contents of one of the last great treasure houses of New York. The first online sale, Irene Roosevelt Aitken: A Love of the 18th Century, features English and French decorative arts, Chinese Export and European porcelain, antique books and fine art from 990 Fifth Avenue, with bids opening at $100. Property is available to view by appointment at our warehouses.

Irene Aitken was a true devotee of the arts and, to further her legacy of generosity, proceeds of the collection will go to the three New York cultural institutions closest to her heart: The Metropolitan Museum of Art, The Frick Collection and The Morgan Library & Museum.
