The condition of lots can vary widely and the nature of the lots sold means that they are unlikely to be in a perfect condition. Lots are sold in the condition they are in at the time of sale.
In overall fairly good condition.
With the inevitable knocks, marks, losses, scatches and shrinkage cracks, consistent with age and use.
The gilding rubbed overall revealing red bole layers throughout and elements of chipping revealing bare timber.
The pounced decoration lacking its original definition.
The plate with some heaving oxidisation and tarnishing most noticable to the upper left quadrant.
Some losses to the silvering also, with a larger patch of loss to the left hand edge.
The reverse with water staining and shrinkage.
The gilded decoration particularly flaking to the reverse of the front carving, and would benefit from securing
Old hanging holes.
Otherwise structurally secure and ready to hang.
