The condition of lots can vary widely and the nature of the lots sold means that they are unlikely to be in a perfect condition. Lots are sold in the condition they are in at the time of sale.

- Overall condition good. Some scratches to the metal, consistent with normal wear. With clip fittings and later added post fittings.
- Additional marks (clip a): signed VAN CLEEF & ARPELS, partial number, 'NY' and one digit removed when fittings were adapted.
- Additional marks (clip b): signed VAN CLEEF & ARPELS NY, 'Y' slightly indistinct, partial number, two digits removed when fittings were adapted.
- Sapphires, rubies and emeralds: with numerous typical inclusions, some surface reaching, scratches and small chips throughout.
- Diamonds: total weight approximately 4.50 - 5.00 carats.
