Condition report
A Christie's specialist may contact you to discuss this lot or to notify you if the condition changes prior to the sale.
The condition of lots can vary widely and the nature of the lots sold means that they are unlikely to be in a perfect condition. Lots are sold in the condition they are in at the time of sale.
Overall fairly good condition and ready to hang in the present frame, which probably dates to the early 1960s. Minor chips and losses to the gilding of the frame, visible in the photograph. The silvered section of the glass has a yellowish tone. The painted areas with extensive losses. It has possibly been wet at some point as the colours/paint appears to have run in several places as well as has flaked away, revealing the brown colour of the backboards behind. The foreground beneath the figure and around the dog has lost much of its definition, as has the rocky outcrop and areas around the buildings.
