The condition of lots can vary widely and the nature of the lots sold means that they are unlikely to be in a perfect condition. Lots are sold in the condition they are in at the time of sale.
The lorgnette: apparently unmarked; bruises and dents to the gold mounts with some pins now lacking; one small section of gold replaced; scuff marks to the shagreen with small nicks to one side; the glasses' frame slightly warped.; the spare glasses with protective tortoiseshell frames.
The loupe: gold mark legible, maker's mark illegible; with some surface bruising to the handle and wear on high points.
The needle case: marks partially legible; light scratching and small dent to the lower section.
The seal, possibly English, circa 1840; the matrix possibly replaced.
The tortoiseshell pill box with some very light scratching.
The hardstone pill box, probably Germany: marks clear; three cracks in the cover and small corresponding chip; light scratching to the hardstone.
