Sale Overview
Let There Be Light is an online-only auction featuring lighting through the centuries. Across periods, techniques and materials, the sale showcases an expansive array of chandeliers, candlesticks, lanterns, wall lights and more. Christie’s is delighted to have partnered with Martin Brudnizki, one of the most renowned names in interior architecture, design and hospitality, as tastemaker for this sale.
The cross-category auction features contributions from the 18th-century and 19th-century European courts, including Russian and Swedish crystal and gilt-bronze chandeliers and an elegant pair of Louis XV and Louis XVI ormolu candlesticks. Other highlights include innovative Industrialist pieces from the late 19th century as well as modern and contemporary fixtures by great 20th-century British names such as Sibyl Colefax & John Fowler, Vaughan, Robert Kime, Jamb and Soane.
Join Martin Brudnizki and Amjad Rauf on the @christiesinteriors Instagram Live at 6pm on 9 July to discuss how lighting can enhance a living space.
