AN OTTOMAN JADE AND AMBER PIPE MOUTHPIECE, A JADE PIPE MOUTHPIECE AND A JADE CALLIGRAPHER'S TOOL
OTTOMAN TURKEY AND INDIA, 18TH/19TH CENTURY
The first of inverted baluster shape, sectioned and facetted, carved with bands of repeating floral motifs, each section interspersed with a copper ring inset with rubies, with bulbous amber mouthpiece; the second mouthpiece of typical form, the cylindrical section engraved with rising and hanging leaf motifs, the elongated bulbous tip with cylindrical finial with similar rising motifs ; the third, possibly a burnishing stone, of baluster shape, the base slightly convex, the flat top with a tight abrasive lattice
