2023 marks the 50th anniversary of Christie’s in Amsterdam, a longstanding stronghold for us to connect with collectors and celebrate the country’s rich history and tradition of creating and collecting art. In honour of this occasion, Christie’s is delighted to present a celebratory edition of Made in Holland, a landmark online auction offering the very best of Dutch art — from Old Master and 19th-century painting to modern and contemporary art. Leading the sale is Karel Appel’s 1953 masterwork Crying Girl.

Works on offer will be on view in our Amsterdam galleries throughout the bidding period, between 26 September and 10 October. This is a unique opportunity to explore the global achievements by some of the most pioneering and influential Dutch artists across 400 years of art history. Entry is free and open to all.
