The condition of lots can vary widely and the nature of the lots sold means that they are unlikely to be in a perfect condition. Lots are sold in the condition they are in at the time of sale.

The canvas, stretcher and attachments are in generally good condition. The canvas has been relined with a glue lining. There are craquelures visible in the upper left quadrant, along the lower edge and in the white passages. There are some minor frame abrasions visible, predominantly to the lower edge. In natural light no obvious damages or retouchings can be detected, except for a discoloured cosmetic retouching in the centre left. Examination under ultraviolet light shows the aforementioned retouching in the centre left, in addition to two pinpoint retouchings in the lower left.
