A TERRACOTTA BUST OF QUEEN MARIE-ANTOINETTE, AFTER FELIX LECOMTE (1737-1817), EARLY 20TH CENTURY

At the Salon of 1783, Félix Lecomte (1737-1817) exhibited a Carrara marble bust of Queen Marie-Antoinette aged 28. The portrait was a great success and circulated widely. The original sculpture is now in the Château de Versailles (inv. MV 2123).
