The condition of lots can vary widely and the nature of the lots sold means that they are unlikely to be in a perfect condition. Lots are sold in the condition they are in at the time of sale.

Le tableau apparaît dans un bon état de conservation général.

Il est sur sa toile d'origine (avec une pièce de toile en haut à droite).

A l'oeil nu, on ne remarque pas de manques de matière ni de soulèvements. Il est sous un vernis encrassé qui a besoin d'être allégé.

A l'UV, le tableau apparaît sous un vernis vert uniforme épais. On distingue quelques reprises anciennes dans les fonds, particulièrement le long du rideau. On distingue aussi des restaurations dans le cou, le visage et la gorge du modèle. Les drapés et les dentelles sont bien préservés.

Dans un cadre en bois sculpté doré (approx. 120 x 100 cm.) - manques au cadre.

The painting is in an overall good state of conservation.

It is unlined (with a piece of canvas at the reverse, upper right).

To the naked eye, no losses nor lifting are noticeable. The painting is under a dirty layer of varnish that would need to be cleaned.

Ultraviolet examination reveals an even surface, thick, green layer of varnish. Ancient retouching can be seen in the backgrounds, notably along the curtain. Some restoration to the neck, the face and the throat of the model is noticeable. The drapery and lace elements are well preserved.

In a carved, golden wooden frame (approx. 120 x 100 cm.) - losses to the frame.
