The condition of lots can vary widely and the nature of the lots sold means that they are unlikely to be in a perfect condition. Lots are sold in the condition they are in at the time of sale.

Le tableau est peint sur un panneau composé d'une planche, non parqueté. Le support est stable.

A l'oeil nu, le côté esquissé de ce tableau reste appréciable, surtout dans le visage du modèle. On constate quelques retouches ponctuelles dans le fond.

A l'UV, on constate au moins deux campagnes de restauration. La plus récente se concentre le long du bord gauche et dans le fond à droite, la plus ancienne sur l'armure de modèle et les jambes arrières du cheval.

La matière reste stable.

The painting is executed on a panel made up of a single board. The panel is stable.

In natural light the sketch-like quality of the composition rests appreciable, notably in the face of the rider. There are some retouchings in the background.

Examination under UV light reveals at least two campaigns of restoration. The most recent of these is focused along the left-hand edge of the panel. The older campaign can be seen in the figure and the horse’s legs. The paint remains stable.
