Sale Overview

Christie’s is pleased to present an online-only auction of drawings and prints by Henri Matisse — offered directly from members of the family of the artist. All proceeds of the works offered directly from the Estate of Jacquelyn Miller Matisse, at Mme. Matisse’s request, will benefit charitable organizations.

The sale is led by a wonderfully expressive portrait, executed in strong strokes of India ink, against a background of red gouache. Other highlights include animated portraits, sensual nudes and whimsical floral compositions. With 58 lots to browse through, explore fresh and dynamic works on paper by one of the defining modern masters of the 20th century. Estimates start at $700 and bidding opens at 2pm EDT on 5 June.

Exhibited highlights can be viewed in person at our Rockefeller Center galleries, from 6-14 June. Specific works can be viewed by appointment as well.
