Sale Overview
Christie’s Modern American Art Online auction will offer approachably priced works by leading artists associated with early 20th‑century movements including the Stieglitz Circle, Abstraction, Magic Realism, Regionalism and Illustration. The sale will be open for bidding from 20 March through 17 April, with many works offered without reserve.
This season’s highlights include selections from several notable collections: a delightful group from The McCann Collection of American Illustration; exceptional works of Magic Realism from Mystery & Magic: An Important Greenwich Village Collection; further examples from Companions: A Collection of Works by Paul Cadmus; and noteworthy abstraction from The Blanton Museum of Art, sold to benefit the Mari and James A. Michener Acquisitions Endowment Fund.
Notable artists represented in the sale include Charles Ephraim Burchfield, Wolf Kahn, Doris Lee, and many more.
Select works will be on view at Rockefeller Center beginning Friday, 10 April as part of the marquee Modern New York sale week.
