Jacques Adnet, a luminary of French Modernism, left an indelible mark on the world of design with his innovative and sophisticated eye. Adnet’s ethos in design lead to important collaborations with such important houses such as historic French glass makers Baccarat. This partnership began in the 1930s, producing works that elegantly display his mastery of French Modernism. With various designs for the tablescape, the present lot, attributed to Adnet, represents his belief in the marriage of functionality with geometric simplicity.

Overall very good condition. With a few small nicks to the crystal, concentrated to the extreme edges and only visible upon close inspection. One candelabra presents with a small inclusion, only visible upon close inspection. One silvered metal cap re-stuck at some point in its history, presenting with some glue residue to the interior. The same candelabra with a small chip to the crystal on one corner (approximately 1⁄4 x 1⁄8 in.) and a small adjacent scratch (approximately 3⁄4 in.). With some wax residue in the basins for the candlesticks, as to be expected from normal use. Silver metal with some rubbing and light scratches, not visually distracting. Presents well, ready for use and display.
