The condition of lots can vary widely and the nature of the lots sold means that they are unlikely to be in a perfect condition. Lots are sold in the condition they are in at the time of sale.

- the full sheet, with two deckle edges left and right, the colours fresh
- some pale ink smudges outside the platemark, mainly at the upper left margin
- a few, unobtrusive pinpoint foxmarks at the right margin, minor surface dirt

- occasional fingerprints and minor surface dirt on the reverse

T. 209:
- with wide margins, the colours fresh
- very pale toning at the upper margin
- occasional ink spots at the sheet edges
- a 2-mm. nick at the lower right sheet edge

- very pale toning at the sheet edges
- occasional, unobtrusive dirt marks along the margins
- some handling creases along the margins

- very pale toning at the sheet edges, occasional very pale and unobtrusive stains, ink spots and minor surface dirt along the margins
- some soft, unobtrusive handling creases at the sheet edges

- the full sheet, with two deckle edges left and right, the colours fresh
- occasional, unobtrusive ink spots along the margins, a pinpoint, very pale stain at the left margin
- a few pale and unobtrusive fingerprints at the lower sheet edge
