The condition of lots can vary widely and the nature of the lots sold means that they are unlikely to be in a perfect condition. Lots are sold in the condition they are in at the time of sale.
This two-piece panel is held stable with a horizontal baton along the centre of the panel and remains even and structurally stable. The panel is covered in a thick dirty layer of varnish, with some paint losses in the lower left corner and along the edges of the panel. A horizontal crack has been stabilised in the upper left corner of approximately 30 cm, and there is historic abrasion on the surface, with a greater transparency in the darker passages. Ultraviolet examination confirms the above and reveals scattered restoration throughout, which is somewhat obscured by the thick layer of varnish.
