The condition of lots can vary widely and the nature of the lots sold means that they are unlikely to be in a perfect condition. Lots are sold in the condition they are in at the time of sale.
This painting is executed on a large uniformly thin sheet of copper. It has been mounted into a wooden frame for support. The paint layer is stable, under a clear varnish. In natural light, small losses to the back of the chair at lower right and the second story window of the building are visible. Pentimenti around the dog and figural group at lower left are also visible. Inspection under ultraviolet light reveals areas of restoration in the foliage at center, over an area of the upper right corner, and scattered in the sky, especially along the horizon line at center left. The painting presents well and is offered in a carved and giltwood frame.
