Melencolia I

The condition of lots can vary widely and the nature of the lots sold means that they are unlikely to be in a perfect condition. Lots are sold in the condition they are in at the time of sale.

In addition to the catalogue description:
- trimmed just inside the platemark but retaining a fillet of blank paper outside the borderline on all sides.
- the tip of the upper left sheet corner slightly disturbed and possibly very skilfully repaired.
- with the usual horizontal central fold, mainly visible verso and in raking light, partially broken and very skilfully reinforced in places verso, with tiny associated repairs along the fold (mainly at right).
- two tiny repaired paper splits at the lower left corner (visible only under magnification).
- a tiny nick (1 mm.) at the upper sheet edge at centre left.
- a soft vertical fold, mostly visible verso and in raking light.
- very minor skinning at the upper sheet corners, where previously hinged.
- very narrow traces of adhesive along the extreme sheet edges verso, where previously adhered to a display mount.
Otherwise as described and generally in very good condition.
