The condition of lots can vary widely and the nature of the lots sold means that they are unlikely to be in a perfect condition. Lots are sold in the condition they are in at the time of sale.

In addition to the catalogue description:
- trimmed just inside the borderline
- the watermark not in Briquet, Haewood, Woodward or Takahatake.
- the Spencer stamp at lower left recto.
- the upper and lower right corners made-up
- a few small thin spots and tiny holes.
- remains of an old backing sheet in places verso.
- remains of old paper hinges at the upper and left sheet corners verso.
