The condition of lots can vary widely and the nature of the lots sold means that they are unlikely to be in a perfect condition. Lots are sold in the condition they are in at the time of sale.
Visible and notable flaking and loss to the gilt decoration. Many areas of wood carcass and gesso now showing. Evidence of old worming to overall of both, particularly to the bases.
Circumcision composed of two panels with evident joint to the left side. A crack running one fifth of the way from the upper edge and another to the left side. An approximate 7-inch crack to the upper center. The left panel warped such that the figure's face is askew in the upper left corner. Loss to the lower right corner. Later braces to the reverse and the original dovetail joints removed.
The Elders composed of two panels as well with joint now evident. Additional cracks including one approximate 13-inch emanating from the top edge. Chipped losses to surrounds especially at the top and all corners. Loss to canopy above Christ. Loss to the hand of the bearded figure in the lower left. An approximate 1-inch hole to the background under the elbow of the highest figure. Areas of fill to the cracks, some with loss to the later infill due to shrinkage.
