Christie’s is honoured to present Patrick Moorhead - Hidden Treasures. A selection of furniture and works of art from the legendary Brighton based antique dealer. From an early age Patrick Moorhead grew up working at his parents’ antique shop at a time when the narrow streets at the heart of the old town of Brighton, known as The Lanes, were home to many small family owned antique shops and jewellers. Still trading from premises in Brighton, today Patrick Moorhead has established an international reputation, sought out by collectors and interior decorators. Patrick Moorhead has curated this sale with Christie’s, choosing an eclectic mix of objects and styles, encompassing everything from Regency furniture to Chinese ceramics, from Meissen porcelain to clocks and chandeliers. Patrick says ‘it was great fun putting together this auction but I’m not planning on retiring anytime soon, buying and selling is in my blood, and I can’t live without the thrill of the hunt. I hope this auction shares the excitement I feel for making discoveries, for unearthing hidden treasures.’
