The condition of lots can vary widely and the nature of the lots sold means that they are unlikely to be in a perfect condition. Lots are sold in the condition they are in at the time of sale.

In addition to the catalogue description:
- with wide margins.
- an unobtrusive elliptical handling crease (185 mm.) in the upper left subject and another (113 mm.) below, mainly visible in a raking light.
- a horizontal line of cockling across the centre of the sheet; with other soft handling creases and overall cockling, associated with this fragile paper.
- pale scattered foxing across the sheet, with some areas of pale discoloration in the margins.
- some stray printing ink in the right margin.
- the sheet unexamined out of the frame due to the scale of the sheet.
