Taught at the Dublin Metropolitan School of Art and the Slade School, London, Letitia Hamilton studied with William Orpen and Frank Brangwyn. In 1920 she was a founding member of the Society of Dublin Painters, alongside Paul Henry, Grace Henry and Jack Butler Yeats. She exhibited widely in London, Edinburgh and Dublin and became a member of the Royal Hibernian Academy in 1943.
