The rectangular box with overhanging cover decorated in gold, red and brown hiramaki-e, nashiji and inlays of mother-of-pearl on a black lacquer ground with a swallow hovering above sprays of chrysanthemum, nashiji interior, gilt-copper water-dropper in the shape of a cherry blossom, slate inkstone with gold lacquer rims
