The condition of lots can vary widely and the nature of the lots sold means that they are unlikely to be in a perfect condition. Lots are sold in the condition they are in at the time of sale.
We have sought to record changes in the condition of this piece acquired after its initial manufacture.
- The first Imari teapot (with upright handle) with a small nick to the tip of the spout, some small chips to the footrim, wear to the enamels and rubbing to the gilt.
- The second Imari teapot (with peony) with a firing crack around the handle, kiln dust adhering to the base, surface wear and some flaking to the enamels and rubbing to the gilt. A chip to the cover of approx. 1.5 x 0.5 cm.
- The Arita teapot with small chips to the spout, surface wear, wear and some flaking to the enamels and rubbing to the gilt.
