Lot Essay

I bought this bag on a Saturday afternoon in 2014. My memory is, I walked into Selfridges, saw it, and immediately fell in love. At the time, I was coming out of a long spell of rickety mental health where everything seemed joyless and bleak; but I saw this bag, and the intensity of the colour filled me with happiness. Then the beauty of the leather caught me, the iconic bamboo handle and buttons, and the fact that it's a backpack - I love bags that leave my hands free.
