In their obsessive pursuit of global notoriety, international synthetic artists Janky & Guggimon present The Janky Heist, a groundbreaking NFT drop created in collaboration with cutting-edge art and entertainment brand Superplastic and Christie’s.
The two-part drop begins on 9 July with the auction of eight unique artist-edition Cryptojanky NFTs coinciding with Christie’s Trespassing show, and includes designs created by top NFT artists Gucci Ghost, OG Slick, Shantell Martin, Alex Pardee, Stickymonger, Alexandar Todorovic, and two special one-off pieces by Janky & Guggimon themselves.
In addition, on 13 July the pair will drop 9,240 one-of-a-kind NFTs in a Japanese reverse auction hosted at jankyheist.com.
This NFT drop features unique blockchain mechanics and is based on The Janky Heist, a short film Janky & Guggimon chopped together using police and security footage, and that follows the duo’s unsuccessful attempt to break into Christie’s NYC to steal rare works of art. After accidentally blowing up the entire building, the pair escape into the night with fistfuls of broken NFTs. The recombined pieces make up the 9,240 1/1 Cryptojanky NFTs that are for sale during the auction, and feature easter eggs and other surprises.
“Janky STILL No.1 FAM!!!”, says Janky. “Dis auction me n Guggimon are dropping our v own special sauce NFTs @ CHRISTIE’S n this shite have NEVR been done b4 😵 TRESPASSING wuz my majer n 6th grayde 🤓 Come 4 me n Guggi, butt stay for other dope art by da homies OG Slick, Gucci Ghost, Alex Pardee n mor!!!”
